Lone Star Young Artist Program

Lone Star Young Artist Program (LSYAP) is designed for the advancing young musician. LSYAP students are given unique opportunities to develop musicianship and technique through collaborative music making.  Daily schedule includes Lessons, Chamber Music, Orchestra, Technique Class, Dalcroze, and enrichment classes.

Lone Star Young Artist Program: LYSAP is for violinists, violists, and cellists, 12 years and older, who play at or beyond the following repertoire levels:

  • Violin: Handel Sonata No. 1 in A Major / Bach Concerto No. 1 in a minor
  • Viola: Marcello Sonata in G Major
  • Cello: Saint-Saens, The Swan


Auditions are required for students new to Lone Star Young Artist Program.

The video must include two contrasting pieces.

Students will be notified of acceptance by April 15 and will be given a password to access the LSYAP registration page. 



Program fees per applicant for the Lone Star Young Artist Program are as follows:

  • Program fee: $ 695
  • Registration fee: $ 75 (non-refundable)

Registration and payments postmarked on or after April 15, but on or before May 15, will be assessed $25 late fee per applicant. Registration and payments postmarked on or after May 15, will be assessed $50 late fee per applicant. All payments must be postmarked by May 21. Registration closes May 21.


All students are assigned a dorm parent who supervises all evening activities and sleep in the same area of the hotel as the LSYAP students. (Boys and girls are housed in separate areas.) Students are required to check-in with their dorm parents each day at mealtimes. DFW WOW requires notarized release forms for all unaccompanied minors. These forms are available for download during the online registration process. Please return your completed forms with your paid registration.
