Teacher Development

The Suzuki Association of the Americas considers teacher training to be professional pedagogical study. To qualify as a participant in Short-Term and Apprentice SAA Teacher Development Courses, applicants must submit a videotape audition to the SAA.   Additional information is available at: suzukiassociation.org/teachers.

EVERY CHILD CAN! – Fri., June 29, 2018

Teacher Trainer: Rolando Freitag

Every Child Can!© (ECC) is an introduction to Dr. Suzuki’s philosophy and its application to Suzuki education. For parents, teachers, prospective teachers and others, this 6-hour course provides an inspiring, in-depth look at the Suzuki approach to teaching and learning.

SAA MEMBERSHIP

Applicants must provide proof of SAA Membership. SAA Membership must be completed directly with the SAA.  The SAA Membership fee is not part of the DFW WOW Teacher Development course fees.  Once your membership has been completed with the SAA, please provide one of the following forms of documentation:

  • Photocopy of current SAA membership card or current SAA journal mailing label
  • Photocopy of SAA membership application and check
  • SAA Member number

PREPARATION

ECC 

Recommended reading:  Nurtured by Love by Shinichi Suzuki.

No advanced preparation necessary.  You will be provided with a course book. Bring note-taking materials.  ECC participants do not need to bring an instrument.

 

Instrument Specific Book Courses

Recommended reading:  Nurtured by Love by Shinichi Suzuki.

All applicants are expected to prepare the music to be studied to the point of fluency. To benefit most from the course, it is recommended that the applicant memorize the repertoire.  Participants are required to bring their instrument and a music stand to class every day.  

 

Registration Fee: $75 (non-refundable, includes SAA related fee)

Registration and payments postmarked on or after April 15, 2018, but on or before May 15, 2018, will be assessed $25 late fee per applicant. Registration and payments postmarked on or after May 15, 2018, will be assessed $50 late fee per applicant. All payments must be postmarked by May 21, 2018. Registration closes May 21, 2018.
